Statement of Faith

We believe that the Bible, consisting of sixty-six books of the Old and New Testament Scriptures, was divinely inspired (God-breathed); that has God for its Author, salvation for its end and truth without any mixture of error for its matter; that it reveals the principles by which God will judge us; and therefore is and shall remain to the end of the world, the only rule of Christian faith and the supreme standard by which all human conduct, creeds, and opinions should be tried.  We use the King James Version of the Bible because it is the closest to the original Hebrew & Greek texts and the divinely preserved Word of God in the English language.

Psalm 12:6 “The words of the Lord are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. Thou shalt keep them, O Lord, thou shalt preserve them from this generation forever.”

We believe the Scriptures teach that there is one and only one living and true God, an infinite and intelligent Spirit, the Creator and Ruler of heaven and earth; inexpressibly glorious in holiness and worthy of all worship, honor and praise; that in the unity of the Godhead there are three persons (the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit), equal in all divine attributes and executing distinct but harmonious offices.

Deuteronomy 6:4-7 “Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD: And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might. And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart: And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.”

We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures as a representative and substitutionary sacrifice and that all who receive Him are justified on the grounds of His shed blood.  We believe that He was begotten by the Holy Spirit, was born of the Virgin Mary in a miraculous manner, and that He is both the Son of God and God the Son.  We believe in the bodily resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ, His bodily ascension into heaven and His bodily presence there for us as High Priest and Advocate.

Hebrews 7:25-27 “Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them. For such an high priest became us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and made higher than the heavens; Who needeth not daily, as those high priests, to offer up sacrifice, first for his own sins, and then for the people’s: for this he did once, when he offered up himself.”

We believe the scriptures teach that man was created in the image of God in innocence under the law of his Creator, but by voluntary transgression he fell from that holy and happy state and thereby incurred not only physical death but also spiritual death, which is separation from God; that all human beings are born with a sinful nature and are now sinners by birth and by choice, being by nature utterly void of that holiness required by the law of God.

Romans 5:18-21 “Therefore as by the offense of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life. For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous. Moreover, the law entered, that the offense might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound: That as sin hath reigned unto death, even so, might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord.”

We believe the Scriptures teach that the Lord Jesus Christ, according to the will of the Father, assumed our nature, yet without sin;  that by His death He became the propitiation (satisfied the wrath of the Father against us) for our sins;  that having risen from the dead, He is now enthroned in heaven and is a victorious, compassionate and all-sufficient Savior;  and that all who receive Him are justified on the grounds of faith alone, receiving forgiveness by His shed blood;  that they are thereby children of God and are eternally saved, being kept by the power of God.

John 3:16-18 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.”

We believe the Scriptures teach that Satan is literal and personal, the agent of the fall, the prince and power of the air, the god of this world and that he shall be condemned to eternal judgment in the Lake of Fire.

Revelation 20:10 “And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are and shall be tormented day and night forever and ever.”

We believe in the “Blessed Hope” – the personal, bodily, pre-tribulation, pre-millennial and imminent (at-any-moment) return of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Matthew 24:44 “Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh.”
