430 Days of Captivity
430 Days of Captivity
“Who hath heard such a thing? who hath seen such things? Shall the earth be made to bring forth in one day? or shall a nation be born at once?” Isaiah 66:8
Why Israel was Captured by Their Enemies
“Moreover, the word of the LORD came unto me, saying, Son of man, when the house of Israel dwelt in their own land, they defiled it by their own way and by their doings:…” Ezekiel 36:16-17
Israel would be ruled and trodden down until “the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled.” Luke 21”24
Then God would bring them back to the land of Israel from all nations where he has scattered them.
Not for their sakes but for God’s “holy name’s sake.” Ezekiel 36:22
Partitioning My Land by the Gentiles
“For, behold, in those days, and in that time, when I shall bring again the captivity of Judah and Jerusalem, I will also gather all nations, and will bring them down into the valley of Jehoshaphat, and will plead with them there for my people and for my heritage Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations, and parted my land.” Joel 3:1-2
The land of Israel has been ruled by Assyria, Babylon, Persia, Egypt, The Greeks, the Romans, the Turks and the British.
On November 29, 1947, the United Nations Organization voted to partition the land of Palestine, as it was then called.
The partitioning plan was to become effective a year from that date (11/26/48).
God promised Abraham’s descendants the land from the Nile to the Euphrates; The partitioning gave them an area about the size of New Jersey
“Unto thy seed have I given this land, from the river of Egypt unto the great river, the river Euphrates:” Genesis 15:17
However, with the end of the British Mandate, there would be no law, and everyone could do “what was right in their own eyes.” Judges 21:25
The leaders of Israel were called the to meet in Tel Aviv.
The meeting resulted in the Israeli Declaration of Independence.
This was done on Iyyar 5, 5708 on the Jewish calendar. (May 14, 1948), the date that David Ben-Gurion proclaimed independence.
The nation was immediately recognized by the US and was attacked by the Egyptian air force.
On May 11, 1949, Israel became a member of the United Nations.
God still has other prophesies to be fulfilled
The Birth of Modern Israel, May 14, 1948
“Thou also, son of man, take thee a tile, and lay it before thee, and portray upon it the city, even Jerusalem: And lay siege against it, and build a fort against it, and cast a mount against it; set the camp also against it, and set battering rams against it round about. Moreover, take thou unto thee an iron pan, and set it for a wall of iron between thee and the city: and set thy face against it, and it shall be besieged, and thou shalt lay siege against it. This shall be a sign to the house of Israel. Lie thou also upon thy left side, and lay the iniquity of the house of Israel upon it: according to the number of the days that thou shalt lie upon it thou shalt bear their iniquity. For I have laid upon thee the years of their iniquity, according to the number of the days, three hundred and ninety days: so shalt thou bear the iniquity of the house of Israel. And when thou hast accomplished them, lie again on thy right side, and thou shalt bear the iniquity of the house of Judah forty days: I have appointed thee each day for a year.” Ezekiel 4: 1-6
God told Abraham that his descendants would receive the promised land of their enemies after the 400 years of Gentile control was ended because “the iniquity of the Amorites was not yet full...” Genesis 15:16
Israel’s First Captivity
“And he said unto Abram, Know of a surety that thy seed shall be a stranger in a land that is not theirs, and shall serve them; and they shall afflict them four hundred years; And also that nation, whom they shall serve, will I judge: and afterward shall they come out with great substance.” Genesis 15:13-14
Abraham was told this on what would become Passover, Nisan 14.
The mistreatment of the seed of Isaac began 30 years later when Ishmael mocked Isaac. Genesis 21:8-10
This was followed by 400 years of slavery in Egypt until Israel came out on Passover. Exactly 430 years after the affliction began.
“Now the sojourning of the children of Israel, who dwelt in Egypt, was four hundred and thirty years. And it came to pass at the end of the four hundred and thirty years, even the selfsame day it came to pass, that all the hosts of the LORD went out from the land of Egypt.” Exodus 12:40-41
The Apostle Paul confirmed this information in Galatians 3:17.
God established the length of judgment to be 490 years for not following His laws.
Israel’s Second Captivity
After 490 years in the promised land.
Israel failed to follow God’s Sabbath law of Jubilee. The land had no rest for 70 Jubilees;
God removed Israel from His land.
“Therefore thus saith the LORD of hosts; Because ye have not heard my words, Behold, I will send and take all the families of the north, saith the LORD, and Nebuchadrezzar the king of Babylon, my servant, and will bring them against this land, and against the inhabitants thereof, and against all these nations round about, and will utterly destroy them, and make them an astonishment, and an hissing, and perpetual desolations. Moreover, I will take from them the voice of mirth, and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom, and the voice of the bride, the sound of the millstones, and the light of the candle. And this whole land shall be a desolation, and an astonishment; and these nations shall serve the king of Babylon seventy years.” Jeremiah 25:8-11
Israel was in captivity until Cyrus signed the decree for them to leave.
Less than 50,000 returned to the land of Israel. No national repentance.
So Judgement continued according to the Torah.
“And if ye will not yet for all this hearken unto me, then I will punish you seven times more for your sins.” Leviticus 25:18
That adds 2,520 years to the captivity by other nations (430-70=360)times 7 equals 2520 years.
The seventy years of captivity ended in 536 BC
2,520 years later brings us to May 15, 1948, the day the British Mandate ended.
Bones and Sticks
“Again he said unto me, Prophesy upon these bones, and say unto them, O ye dry bones, hear the word of the LORD. Thus saith the Lord GOD unto these bones; Behold, I will cause breath to enter into you, and ye shall live: And I will lay sinews upon you and will bring up flesh upon you, and cover you with skin, and put breath in you, and ye shall live, and ye shall know that I am the LORD.” Ezekiel 37:4-6
Very dry and very old after 2,590 years out of the land.
Prophesy of stage one – to the bones
“So I prophesied as I was commanded: and as I prophesied, there was a noise, and behold a shaking, and the bones came together, bone to his bone. And when I beheld, lo, the sinews and the flesh came up upon them, and the skin covered them above: but there was no breath in them.” Ezekiel 37:7-8
God gave them life and strength and an identity
But no breath. No Holy Spirit life.
Prophesy of stage two - to the Wind:
“Then said he unto me, Prophesy unto the wind, prophesy, son of man, and say to the wind, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe upon these slain, that they may live. So I prophesied as he commanded me, and the breath came into them, and they lived and stood up upon their feet, an exceeding great army. Then he said unto me, Son of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel: behold, they say, Our bones are dried, and our hope is lost: we are cut off for our parts. Therefore prophesy and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, O my people, I will open your graves, and cause you to come up out of your graves, and bring you into the land of Israel. And ye shall know that I am the LORD, when I have opened your graves, O my people, and brought you up out of your graves, And shall put my spirit in you, and ye shall live, and I shall place you in your own land: then shall ye know that I the LORD have spoken it, and performed it, saith the LORD.” Ezekiel 37: 9-11-14
The bones represented the “whole house of Israel”
The spirit will enter the nation when Jesus comes
All Israel will be saved:
”And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob: For this is my covenant unto them when I shall take away their sins.” Romans 11:16-17
One Nation Under God
After Solomon's death, the Nation of Israel split into two nations
In 722 BCE Israel fell, and with, it, the last king of the ten northern tribes, Hoshea, along with most of the remaining people in the land, were taken captive to Assyria by Shalmaneser V.
After the Battle of Carchemish in 605 BCE, Nebuchadnezzar besieged Jerusalem, resulting in tribute being paid by King Jehoiakim. The Southern Kingdom of Judah lasted as an independent Kingdom until 605 BCE.
God promised the revived nation would be one nation with one king.
“Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I will take the stick of Joseph, which is in the hand of Ephraim, and the tribes of Israel his fellows, and will put them with him, even with the stick of Judah, and make them one stick, and they shall be one in mine hand… And I will make them one nation in the land upon the mountains of Israel, and one king shall be king to them all: and they shall be no more two nations, neither shall they be divided into two kingdoms any more at all:” Ezekiel 37:19, 22
On May 14, 1948, God joined the two tribes of Judah with ten tribes of Israel to make the independent State of Israel.
Never to be separated again.
For Ever
“And they shall dwell in the land that I have given unto Jacob, my servant, wherein your fathers have dwelt; and they shall dwell therein, even they, and their children, and their children’s children for ever: and my servant David shall be their prince for ever.” Ezekiel 37:25
“They” - One Generation
“Their Children” - Second Generation
Their Children’s Children” - Third Generation
“For Ever” –Eternity and beyond
